Kids Need To Draw
Each of the projects that does not involve drawing has a drawing exercise.
Drawing Exercise #1 guides children through drawing the objects in an open kitchen (or other) cupboard. Uses pencil and some color. Tackles the issue of drawing something smaller than themselves, drawing life-size and drawing from direct observation.
Drawing Exercise #2 – for an Individual Kid guides children through making a self-portrait while looking in a mirror. Uses pencil and some color. Tackles drawing something their own size and drawing a person.
Drawing Exercise #2 – for a Group of Kids guides children through making a portrait of another child seated across a row of tables from him/her. Uses pencil and some color. Tackles drawing something their own size and drawing a person.
Drawing Exercise #3 guides children through making a drawing of the outside of the building where they live – a house, apartment building, house-boat, etc. – and setting it into its landscape surroundings. Uses pencil and some color. Tackles drawing something much bigger than they are.
