On-Demand Training For Instructors
This video and accompanying materials will prepare adult and teen instructors to do the Eyeball It!® studio art program with groups of kids. It is intended for youth-serving, non-profit organizations of any type - public libraries, YMCA’s, Boys & Girls Clubs, churches, after-school and summer programs, and more. Kids need art!
This Training Video is available to registered Eyeball It!® user organizations only. Like the program, it is free of charge. Request access via the button above. Once some basic information is verified, we will email you a separate password to access and play the video for your group training sessions. The video must be played from the Eyeball It!® website. It cannot be downloaded.
For an organization new to Eyeball It!®, click the green bar here or on the homepage to create a free account, then click “Organization” and follow the directions.
Teens - both high school and college students - have turned out to be wonderful instructors for Eyeball It!®. It’s a peer-to-peer learning model that pays huge benefits to both groups of young people, often encouraging teens to consider teaching as a career. The Eyeball It!® team urges every user organization to look for ways to recruit teen instructors, either paid or volunteer.
Training consists of 3 parts:
1) Complete the Homework for organization leadership, supervising staff and instructors. This must be done before presenting/watching the Training Video. See Homework. For leadership/supervisors preparing to present the video, please print copies of the hand-outs for each participant.
2) Watch the Training Video on a big screen as a group, listening carefully and looking at the relevant hand-outs.
3) Do Drawing Exercise #1, just as the instructors-in-training are doing it in the video.
